Many people think of karma as a universal system of reward and punishment.
Do good things, and good things happen.
Do bad things, and bad things happen.
But is that really how life works?
Is Karma a Cosmic Reward System?
The idea of karma is often tied to morality.
People wonder:
Am I being punished?
Do I deserve this?
Why does this keep happening to me?
When will justice be served?
These questions assume that the universe is acting as a judge.
But what if the universe operates differently?
The Universe Is Not a Moral Space
The universe does not appear to function through personal opinion, favoritism, or revenge.
Action is met with reaction.
Movement generates movement.
Every thought, emotion, belief, interpretation, and action creates a ripple of influence.
What follows is not necessarily punishment.
It is a continuation.
Consequences are not rewards.
Consequences are not punishments.
Consequences are results.
Why Do Patterns Repeat?
What many people describe as karma may be something much simpler.
A recurrence.
Patterns continue moving until their movement reaches:
recognition
balance
exhaustion
This is why certain experiences seem to repeat themselves through:
relationships
decisions
emotional reactions
life circumstances
recurring challenges
Not because life is judging you.
Because unresolved patterns continue generating motion.
Recognition Changes the Pattern
What creates suffering is often not the event itself.
It is resistance to seeing the pattern clearly.
The same situation may appear under different names, different faces, and different circumstances.
Yet something familiar remains.
The pattern is seeking recognition.
When recognition occurs, something begins to settle.
Not because a debt has been paid.
Not because punishment has ended.
Because awareness changes your relationship to the movement itself.
Karma as Unconscious Repetition
In this sense, karma may be less about cosmic justice and more about unconscious repetition.
What remains unseen tends to repeat itself.
What becomes conscious can be approached differently.
The pattern does not disappear.
Your relationship to it changes.
And that changes the experience.
The Royal Maze and the Continuity of Experience

Life does not necessarily repeat to punish.

And understanding is what allows a new variation of the story to emerge.
A Different Way to View Karma
Perhaps karma is not a system of reward and punishment.
Perhaps it is a system of continuity.
Patterns move.
Experiences repeat.
Awareness grows.
And through recognition, what once felt like fate becomes understanding.
That may be the closest thing to justice the universe provides.
