The Movement of Awareness

The Major Arcana in the I Am One Tarot represents positions of awareness through which a person can move.

Rather than viewing them as events that happen to a person, they are understood as movements in perception.

The sequence is not about fate.

It is about perception.

The 22 Major Arcana embody theoretical principles of awareness.

Although the cards are presented in numerical order, they are not connected like links in a chain.

Each principle is connected to the same One center.

That makes the chart of the 22 Major Arcana look more like a sundial than a tower.

A tower suggests a linear ascent.

A sundial organizes movement around a fixed center.

The One center is what allows natural communication between the 22 Major Arcana, even when they are not studied chronologically.

22 Principles of the Major Arcana

The 22 Major Arcana of the I Am One Tarot are not replacements for conventional tarot meanings.

They offer another interpretive layer.

For example:

The Magician is traditionally associated with manifestation, skill, and directed will.

In the I Am One Tarot system, The Changer explores the theoretical principle of communication and creation — how awareness becomes capable of influencing expression.

The Major Arcana Reimagined

The I Am One Tarot presents a fully renamed Major Arcana sequence.

This was done intentionally.

Traditional tarot archetypes are rooted in cultural, religious, and historical symbolism. While meaningful, those names also carry inherited narratives that can shape interpretation before personal awareness has a chance to form.

In this system, the cards are renamed to reflect states of perception rather than external roles.

They are not characters.

They are positions of awareness.

The purpose of renaming is not rebellion.

It is clarification.

Each title in this deck describes a psychological function—a movement in consciousness—rather than a mythic character.

This allows interpretation to remain 'present-focused' and internally directed.

Structure of the 22

The 22 Major Arcana represent developmental thresholds.

They can trace movement from:

Undirected awareness
to
Directed intention
to
Confrontation with limitation
to
Integration of responsibility
to
Stabilized mastery

The sequence reflects movement toward greater self-awareness—not spiritual rank or superiority.

Each card is a mirror.

Not a prophecy.
